John 18:33-37

Jesus Christ is the King of the Universe. Does this offend you? When Pilate confronts Him
about his kingship, Jesus did not deny it but proclaimed it boldly:
Yes, I am a king...I came into the world for this: to bear witness to the truth; and all who are on the side of truth listen to my voice. (John 18:37)
What is Christ's kingship about?
He rules not by power and authority, armies and weapons, but by:
Merciful love - We learn from Jesus to love others despite their mistreatment of us.
Humble service - We learn to put our time, talents and treasures at the service of others for the sake of Christ.
Patient suffering - We unite our daily challenges with the Passion of Christ, in atonement for our sins and the sins of others and in anticipation of the joy and consolation which awaits the righteous here on earth and eternally in heaven.
Sacrificial death - We learn to spend ourselves for the good of others, knowing that our faith and good works have eternal value for us and others.
Benevolent compassion - We learn to see ourselves in others and treat them as we wish to be treated.
Unconditional forgiveness - Mercy is the hallmark of Christ's followers. We treat others, not as they deserve but as Christ treats us.
Undiluted truth - We do not lead others astray through prejudice but offer them the true picture of the world; a place filled with sin and darkness but also hopeful with the light of faith and righteousness.
Where is Jesus' kingdom located?
The location of Christ's rule of love is the human heart. Will you offer him your heart?
His throne is the cross. Will you bear your burdens with Him?
His crown is made of thorns. Will you share your pains with Him?
The law of his kingdom is the law of love. Will you live for others and not just for yourself?
How loyal are you to Jesus Christ our Lord and King?
Today, we witness publicly to and honour Christ's kingship. Christ is present in a pre-eminent way in the Eucharist, the true, real and substantial Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ. And we gladly share this belief with the world that Jesus is with us, may his grace and blessings be upon you always. Amen.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, reign as king over my heart. Fill my mind with the light of truth. Dispel the darkness of falsehood and sin. Help me to serve others with my strength and rejoice in having you as my king forever. Amen.
May Christ the Universal King establish in your life and your home, His kingdom of truth and life, holiness and grace, justice, love and peace. Amen.
