Today’s Reading:
ISAIAH 25: 6-9
On this mountain, the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine- the best of meats and the finest of wines. On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken. On that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” (ISAIAH 25: 6-9)
God’s plans for His people are sure, no matter the circumstance of life. God may have allowed dreadful experiences, devastating situations, and unpalatable encounters but He remains God and He is always available and ever-present with those who are His. In the text under consideration, the people of God had experienced serious evil and torture. They experienced turmoil and chronic disorder that brought them to a state of hopelessness. But the divine encounter of Isaiah brought about a hopeful ending presented in a prophetic order that “on this mountain” meaning, in this same state we are, God is preparing the room for celebrations. He (God) is ever-present with them to cause them to rejoice over the same matter that had brought them serious turmoil.
In the present situation you may have found yourself, brethren, be rest assured that God will never leave nor forsake you; Do you think He seems to have forgotten you, believe me, He is cooking out something to feast on; He is preparing a banquet for public celebration as against whatsoever may have relegated you, molested you, put you into shame, or even rendered you useless. Believe that God is still at work and that His long-seemed silence is a preparation for your glorification – Be hopeful.
In verse 7, the prophecy continues that on that same mountain He “will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations”. God is not only preparing a banquet for you, He will also ensure you are not feasting in bondage, so He is in the business of your deliverance and you are on the verge of breaking through, breaking forth and breaking up with the kingdom of darkness holding back and down. Hence, your banquet is not only of food but majorly of victory. God is going to get you out of your devastation. He will deliver you from the power of sin and death, and remove shame, reproach, and evil from around you; granting you songs of victory and making His glory revealed through you – Hold on to your faith. God is coming in big time, in a big way to redeem you from destruction- knowing fully well that Christ has brought about the ultimate destruction of sin and death (2 Tim. 1: 10; Heb. 2: 14-15) and has granted you victory. Therefore, nothing can hold down any longer.
Confession: I am of the Lord; I cannot be bound in my situation! God is at work in me- He is fighting my battles! He is always in the business of deliverance; hence my victory is sure. I am delivered from all devastation and turmoil. I am free indeed, for Christ paid it all!!! I am in, for the banquet of victory prepared by the Lord for me. Hallelujah!!!
OLUWAFEMI SAMUEL AMONA
Prayer:
Lord, I am grateful for all you have been doing for me! Thank you for not leaving, nor forsake me! Thank you for fighting my battles and preparing for me a better life to live. Glory to your Holy Name Lord!
Oh Lord, by faith I confess the above (you may wish to repeat the confession above), and I believe that it is settled indeed, in Jesus’ mighty Name.
Father, help me to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit concerning my life, so that I will not be foolish before your sight, in Jesus’ name.
Give me the grace to wait, and the patience to endure this period of the preparation of my banquet of victory, in the name of Jesus.
Father, let fire of revival, fall upon Your Church, in Jesus’ name.
Father, let every evil spiritual throne behind all physical thrones in our nation be dismantled, in Jesus’ name.
