Every human being is a bundle of mystery. From the day you were conceived, your parents started making preparations for the kind of life you are going to live. We find out eventually that the life that they have planned for is not what becomes eventually, especially if you live in a developing country. But no matter the twists and turns, tragedies and triumphs, the joys and sorrows of life, you will ultimately become the person that God wants you to be.

Can you sabotage God’s plan for your life? Yes, you can. Are there things you can do to ensure that God’s plan over your life comes to pass? Yes, you can.

  • Obey God’s commandments.

  • Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed.

  • Stay away from sin and destructive habits.

  • Pray about everything.

  • Fill your mind with God’s word.

  • Think for yourself and don’t become the world’s puppet.

  • Treat people well.

  • Don’t abuse opportunities given to you.

  • Pay acts of kindness and generosity forward.

  • Volunteer your gifts —money isn’t everything.

  • Forgive yourself and others.

  • Grow up —don’t just grow old.

When John the Baptist was delivered, people wondered, “What will this child turn out to be?” (Luke 1:57-66). They did not know that he would be the forerunner of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world. In the same way too, you are placed in this world by our heavenly Father, God Himself, to bring about a positive change wherever you find yourself. Do not be self-seeking. Do not put others down or take advantage of them. You are in people’s lives to impact them positively. Every harm done knowingly to your neighbour shall not go unpunished. While you still have time, reconcile with those you have hurt and start living the life of value and impact which God has created you to live. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born, I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” [Ex 33:12; Is 49:1, 5; Rom 8:29] Jeremiah 1:5

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. May God continue to bless you and reveal to you the gifts that you possess and inspire you to use them to lead others to His kingdom where we all shall dwell in righteousness, joy and peace forever. Amen.

  2. May God's favour and blessings be upon you always. Amen.
