IN THE DAY OF HIS POWER

Today’s Reading:

Mark 5:1-20

The above account, one of the most interesting in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, is about a madman in the city of Gadarene. The story revealed that he was possessed by a legion of demons who recognized our Lord Jesus Christ and instantly obeyed His command to come out of the man. The demons had to beg to be allowed to enter the nearby swine which all headed down the river and drowned. To the eyes of ordinary people, they saw a mad man who made the tombs his habitation, but to our Lord Jesus Christ a man possessed of demons.

Every believer has been given the power to be able to see beyond the physical into the spiritual. The question is, how many of us can do that? Nobody could tame the man, but with just one word from the Lord the man was healed. Romans 8 verse 19 says that the earnest expectation of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Psalm 110 vs 3 says that in the day of God's power, His people shall be willing. When the demons left the man, the people in the area marvelled. The devil and his agents are on the rampage all over the world, wreaking havoc on people. God is looking for His people who will rise, and be counted, who will correctly discern the spiritual atmosphere around them, and display the power of God.

What we are witnessing today is a breed of Christians who are toothless bulldogs, a lot of barking and no bite. The question I wish to put to you today is, are you willing to let the Lord use you to demonstrate His Power in this present generation?  The world is still waiting for the church to manifest the power of God. Ask a Christian, can demons tremble at your appearing, and beg you to leave them alone or will you be treated like the sons of Sceva? (Acts 19:14-16).

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud:

Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I believe and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart, keep me from all evil, and lead me in Your path of righteousness Thank You, Lord!

If you said the above short prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest, as the case may be.

Prayers:

  1. My Father and my God I thank You for the privilege of being Your child

  2. O Lord use me as an instrument to demonstrate your power in these last days in the name of Jesus

  3. O Lord ignite Your fire in my life in the name of Jesus

  4. Power for a new beginning, fall upon my life in the name of Jesus

  5. O Lord revive Your church for the end-time harvest in the name of Jesus

  6. O Lord heal our economy in the name of Jesus
