Today’s Readings:
Daniel 12:1-3
Psalm 16:5,8-11
Hebrews 10:11-14,18
Mark 13:24-32
Jesus is coming soon. I am sure these words are not new to you. We react to them in one of
three ways:
Some react to it with indifference.
Some see it as a joke.
But for those who are in Christ Jesus, it is a sign of future glory.
Jesus says: “And then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory; then too he will send the angels to gather his chosen from the four winds, from the ends of the world to the ends of heaven” (Mark 13:25-27).
What are the signs to look out for?
Daniel says: “There is going to be a time of great distress, unparalleled since nations first came into existence” (Daniel 12:1).
We are living in those days of distress:
Hunger and insecurity.
Corrupt and selfish leaders.
General air of faithlessness.
Widespread ignorance.
Complete breakdown of family life.
Unparalleled immorality and disregard for God. The list goes on.
It is in such situation that we must look upwards because God’s coming in near, already at the
gates.
What should you do?
Repent of your sins and give yourself over to God in total surrender.
Reconcile with those who you have a quarrel with.
Plan like you will see tomorrow, but live like today is all you have.
Chase after heaven and the things that will last and treat this world and its worries like it is passing away.

Prayer:
Lord, preserve us all from evil, be our portion and inheritance. Let nothing separate us from You.
Forgive our sins and give them courage to flee from sin and evil, in Jesus’ name.
Help us to seek Your kingdom and its righteousness and bless us with Your choicest blessings always, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
May God grant us the wisdom to see the futility of life, the beauty in the present moment and the glory of our future with Him through Christ our Lord. Amen.
God bless us all abundantly, in Jesus’ name.
