Today’s Readings:
1 John 2:29-3:6
Psalm 98:1,3-6
John 1:29-34

If you can call on the name of Jesus Christ, in good and bad times, you will always find victory and redemption. You can take my word to the bank. The reason why a lot of us fail and remain in failure, defeated, under slavery and in chains, backward, barren, fruitless, addiction is because we have failed to call on the name of Jesus. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower. A righteous person runs to it and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10) . Today, we celebrate the holiest name of Jesus. The devil tries to pervert that which is good. He perverts the name of Jesus in skits and funny videos, in movies and entertainment where people call Jesus’ name in vain to create in our minds the error that the name of Jesus is not holy or special. Many of us endure insults to the Holy Name of Jesus when we watch movies. If you were in a cinema and someone on-screen mentioned your dad’s full name and said he is a stupid man, you would most probably walk out of the theatre in anger. Yet, we endure the perversion of the name of Jesus. The devil knows that if we can key into the power in the name of Jesus, no worries, fears, attacks or addiction will confound us; no failure will stop us.
As the year begins, we are giving this priceless weapon, the most Holy name of Jesus. "That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth" (Philippians 2:10). Do the following today and for the rest of the year:
Calling on the name of Jesus increases in us the love of God.
Calling Jesus’ name is claiming your sonship and daughterhood in God.
Calling on Jesus’ name renews hope.
Calling on Jesus’ name sets you free from sin and slavery to the Devil.
Calling on Jesus’ name keeps you pure.
Calling on Jesus’ name washes away your sins.
Calling on Jesus’ name renews the knowledge of Jesus.
Calling on Jesus’ name fills you with the Holy Spirit (John 14:23).
Calling on Jesus’ name makes you powerful against evil.
Calling on Jesus’ name empowers those around you.
Calling on Jesus’ name makes you a witness to righteousness.
Calling on Jesus’ name drives away the workers of iniquity.
Calling on Jesus’ name strengthens your relationship with Him.
When you call on Jesus’ name, He speaks to you and you hear Him. Hold on to the name of Jesus this new year. God wants to bless you. The superabundant blessings of God shall not pass you by this year. Only call on the name of Jesus and you shall be saved.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
