So, what if it is December? What is so special about this month? You may want to say one of
the following:
It is the last month of the year.
It is the month in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
It is a time to be grateful for the gift of life and grace to reach the end of the year.
It is a time to celebrate life and family.
It is a time to rest from the hustle and bustle of the year.
And I say, so what?
Pardon my pessimism when I say that not much will change this month. In fact, things might
only get worse:
The cost of essential products and services will rise.
Death counts from avoidable deaths will increase.
Sin and immorality will triple.
Employers will delay the salaries of their workers.
People will want to make money and amass wealth by any means possible.
People will cheat others in order to make money.
Relationships will end because of unrealistic expectations.
Marriages will end because of infidelity and greed.
People will lie, steal and kill in the name of God.
Some who commit the above listed atrocities will not live to see Christmas.
What should you do to ensure that this December does not become like every other month before it?
Be grateful for life and be contented with what God has blessed you with.
Live a life of prayer and help those in need.
Do not inflate prices or cheat others in order to make money.
Bear with your spouse and support your family through the hard times.
Live within your means and do not seek to impress people who do not care.
Love your family and spend time with the people you love.
Do not become like the fearful beasts which are described in Daniel’s vision who use their power and resources to kill and destroy (Daniel 7:2-14). Use your gifts to serve and strengthen others. In the end, what will matter is God’s sovereignty that will never end. Let God rule over your life this month. Cheers.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud: “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of a new day and a new month, the month of your Beloved Son’s birth.
May I bring joy, peace and laughter into the lives of everyone I encounter, in Jesus’ name.
May I not be the source of other’s sorrow and sadness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, draw us closer and may nothing separate us from You this new month, and for ever, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
