This Sunday’s liturgy calls us to pray that we may “feel the working of God’s mercy”. God’s work begins to take effect in us when we realise that God is standing with us. God stands with you as your friend and He has your best interest at heart. The operating word in our relationship with God is “Trust”. In order to work with God and journey along with Him, you need to believe that He is leading you to a desired end—salvation, peace, joy and eternal life.
The path you walk on this journey is that of faith. That path will sometimes lead you through the valley of crosses. Do not deny reality, “Call on the Lord’s name” and He will deliver you. We also need to show proof of our journey with God in the good works that we do for our neighbours. People should see Christ in you the way you live your life.
Here are a few things to keep in mind today:
Christ should be the first person that comes to mind at the beginning of each day.
Get to know Jesus Christ for yourself.
Reconcile with God and return to the sacraments.
Present yourself in prayer each day, “Lord, show me how to do Your will today”.
Pray for the things you worry about—what to eat, what to wear, where to go to, who you will meet, what you will earn. Ask God to take care of them.
Your crosses serve to strengthen you and not crush you.
Pray for strength to do hard things and never shy away from difficulty.
Trust God with the uncertainties of each day.
It might not make sense now but it will all work out for your good eventually.
Let your week be a trusting work with God —through the joys and pains of each day.
God walks with you. You have no reason to fear. God bless you always.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Lord, give me strength to accomplish my tasks today.
Lord, order my steps today.
Lord, help me to know You more.
Lord, hold my hands as I go through the day.
Lord, help me to learn the lessons You teach me today.
Lord, help me to respond consciously to the things You will show me today.
Lord, help me to grow from my previous mindset today.
Lord, help me to become a better version of myself today.
Lord, help me to position myself to receive the favours you will send to me today.
May God grant you the grace, the strength you need to go through today and the peace which no one and nothing can give, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
