THE LAW AND THE WRITING OF THE LORD IN OUR HEARTS

Today's Readings:

Psalm 78

Jeremiah 31vs31-34

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people ".                                    (Jeremiah 31:33)

The Israelites despite all that the Lord did for them right from the land of Egypt by disgracing their enemies in the Red Sea and other events. The Lord even held them by hand to show them the way, yet they backslide.

The Lord, in His mercy, decided to fix His law, in no other place than their hearts, where their conscience will always prick them to do good. The best place where one can keep the laws, words and instructions of God is in the heart. No wonder the Bible says in Psalm 37:31 - "The law of His God is in his heart, none of his steps shall slide”. The heart is the seat of conscience, life, thought, evil or good, decisions, emotions morality and so on.  If a man's heart is captured the totality of such a person is captured. That is why we need to guide our hearts diligently and jealously always.  Be able to keep the laws and words of God in our hearts so that we may be able to apply them to our everyday living, so as not to fall away from the race of heaven.

I pray that our hearts will always and continually be ready for Divine instructions in the name of Jesus.

1. Oh God arise and destroy Stony heart in my life in the name of Jesus.

2. Oh God arise and replace Stony heart with the heart of flesh in the name of Jesus.

3. You my heart listen to the voice of your maker always in the name of Jesus.

4. Power organizing wickedness in the hearts of men dies in the name of Jesus.

5. Oh God arise and guide me by your instructions for the journey ahead of me in the name of Jesus.
