Today’s Reading:

Isaiah 29:3– 4

2 Chronicles 32:9 –14

“And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. 4) And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.”

(Isaiah 29 verse 3 – 4)

The topic of today, “The Siege is over” is very apt in this season and age when there is so much suffering and hardship in the world. So many people are under one form of siege or the other without knowing it. My prayer is that after going through this article, they will be well-positioned to deliver themselves in Jesus' name.

What is a Siege:

  • A siege is a military process of surrounding and attacking a fortified place in such a way as to isolate it from help and supplies. It is to lessen the resistance of the defenders, thereby weakening and making capture possible.

  • A prolonged and persistent effort to overcome resistance.

  • A series of illnesses, troubles, or annoyances a person or group

  • A prolonged period of trouble or annoyance

A siege is therefore what a lot of people are passing through without realizing it. We will be

looking at it in depth with accompanying prayers that should bring deliverance to many.

Types of Siege:

  1. Mental Siege: This is a feeling that makes you frightened of people around you, and causes you not to trust them. A person under mental siege will be nursing the following kinds of thought. Everybody hates me; nobody loves me; they want to harm me; let me be by myself. The person develops an inferiority complex and is always withdrawn.

  2. Siege of Fear: The person is always in a state of constant fear. Meanwhile, 2nd Timothy 1 vs 7 tells us that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. If you are experiencing this phenomenon, you must pray yourself out of it holding on to 2 nd Timothy 1 verse 7 as your anchor scripture.

  3. Poverty Siege: This is a state where a person has resigned himself to being poor. He believes that he is condemned to be poor and has accepted it that way. This type of poverty is usually generational. The person believes that he cannot get out of it. The person develops a hatred for rich people. He believes that the rich are responsible for his poverty. The person develops a beggarly mentality.

  4. Health Siege: A person under a health siege is constantly falling sick without knowing the cause. The person believes he is sick, meanwhile, doctors cannot diagnose anything wrong with him/her. The person's health is under spiritual attack. A typical example is the woman who was bent over in Luke 13 verses 11 – 13. She was tied up in the spirit and bent over. Jesus saw that and commanded her to be loosed after 18 years of being in that condition.

  5. Siege on your peace: A person’s peace can be under siege. The person will be experiencing trouble from every direction, at the workplace, at home, in the neighbourhood and so on.

Signs to show that a person is under siege:

  • Persistent and troubling dreams of being in prison or a cage and different types of attacks.

  • Persistent illness that is not responding to medication, especially where doctors cannot place a name to the illness.

  • Persistent voice of fear. This is the type of voice that leads people to suicide.

  • Always being pressed down in your sleep.

  • When all doors seem to be closed against you.

  • Unexplainable hostility.

How do we break loose from the siege?

  • You must be born again so that God can come in and help you

  • Repentance from every known sin

  • Run back to God if you have strayed away from Him and make Him your friend.

  • Constantly read the word of God and meditate on it.

  • Know what God says about you.

  • Pray your way out of it

  • Go for a deliverance programme.

VICTOR ABASSAH

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayers:

  1. Every voice fear speaking into my life, die in the name of Jesus.

  2. Every invincible chain tying me down to one spot breaks in the name of Jesus.

  3. Every curse that has brought a siege in my life, breaks in the name of Jesus.

  4. Every metal siege upon my life scatter in the name of Jesus.

  5. O God arise and break every satanic siege upon our nation in the name of Jesus.
