Today’s Reading:
2 Corinthians 4: 8-10
“Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;” (v. 9)

The above-mentioned passage refers to Paul and his co-workers who preach the gospel. They suffered enormously in the process, but God kept them from being wiped out. They did not quit because they knew that even if they die, they will be resurrected as Christ was. Then they will spend eternity with Him in a glory that will far outweigh and outlast the comparatively high weight and momentary suffering of this life.
It is not an easy life being a Christian. Jesus Himself had warned anyone that would follow Him about this (John 16:33). When we follow Jesus, there is bound to be suffering, trouble, distress, and perplexity. Again, the way of challenges is the way God has chosen to make His children strong and to teach us to war. God is a man of war. Sometimes we may think God has forgotten us. He has not forgotten us, if we hold on to Him, we will see His power at work, in our lives.
Do not give up!
Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.- Gal 6:9 .
Pressure will not defeat us.
Confusion will not discourage us.
When we are confused, Jesus is not confused.
When we are at our wit’s end, God is just getting started. Often, He does His best work when we have given up completely.
