Today’s Reading:
Psalm 72:1-7; 10-14
"Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness. May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice. May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness. May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor. May he endure[a] as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations. May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more." (vv 1-7)
If the Believers only knew how precious they are in the sight of God, there wouldn't have been any worry and anxiety.
Why do you fret?
Why are you downcast?
Why do you feel God does not care?
Why worried about your challenges?
Why allow the tormentors and oppressors to hold you to ransom?
Why do you think God has forsaken the needy?
God said to David: "Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10.
Our God is righteous.
Our God is faithful.
Our God is not a partial God.
He is our defender.
He is our present help in trouble.
In the Scripture of today, He says He will save the children of the needy.
Isaiah 54:13 confirmed that our children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of our children.
Is this not comforting?
The Righteous shall flourish and have abundance of peace.
Our God is a righteous God, defending the needy and destroying the oppressors. These comforting, reliable, dependable & soothing words were echoed in Psalm 92:12 and Proverbs 11:28b " The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like cedar in Lebanon ". Trust in the Lord and in the power of His might. We are precious in His sight. He is the defender of the defenceless.
But for Him to continue to defend you, you need to know him. How? By accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour; confess and repent of your sins.
Jesus is the ONLY way to God, the truth and the life. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.

Prayer:
1. O Lord, let me have daily encounter with you in Jesus name.
2. O Lord, clothe me with your righteousness in Jesus name.
3. Every garment of unrighteousness covering my Glory, catch fire in the name of Jesus.
4. O God Arise and defend the Righteous in the church of God in the name of Jesus.
5. God of Elijah Arise and destroy the oppressors of our nation in Jesus name.
